THERE'S
A Y
IN EVERY
FAMILY
Here in Switzerland County, the Y is more than a gym; it's a
place of community. When you become a part of our community you have joined more than just a gym; you have joined a family.
For 16 years the Switzerland County YMCA has been serving the youth, adults, families and seniors of our community. We work
together with fellow community partners to ensure that everyone has the tools they need to reach their full potential. Strengthening
our community is our cause; one way we do this is by building connections between the youth in our programs with our members.
Kelly Clements, of East Enterprise, joined the Y in September of last year. She originally joined the Y to improve her health,
but after involving herself in several classes and getting to know the members and staff she started volunteering regularly.
As her passion for the Y's mission grew so did her interest in youth development; which lead to more volunteer opportunities.
Kelly started by volunteering during special events and most recently spending one evening a week volunteering in child watch.
However, Kelly did not just volunteer her time-every week that she came she had a new activity for the kids to do and she
always made them a homemade snack. She fully embraced the idea of the Y as a family.
This summer Kelly extended her home and farm to the youth enrolled
in our summer camp program. As our campers first weekly field trip they went and explored the Clements' Farm; the campers
got to play with goats, baby chicks, plant a seed and build their own sundaes. When approached with the idea Kelly said, "I
am excited to do anything that will bring a possible smile to any child's face!"
The Y is more than a gym or membership association. The Y is a coalition of
men, women and children committed to the idea that our community can be better tomorrow than it is today. And together, with
people like Kelly and you, we will make it that way by advancing the Y's focus on Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social
Responsibility. Join us in our cause by finding your place in our family and helping make our community place a better place
for all.
OUR IMPACT
YOUR STORY
You
could be the one who inspires another!
The
Switzerland County YMCA is more than a gym, it's a community and when you join our community you become a part of our Y family.
The Y has made a promise to strengthen community in the areas of Youth Development, Healthy Living and Social Responsibility.
To fulfill our promise we must live our cause every day, meaning we intentionally think, act and communicate in ways that
strengthen our community. One way to contribute to fulfilling our promise is through gathering, sharing and listening to stories
from our staff, volunteers and members. Did you learn to swim at the Y? Maybe you recently moved here and made new friends
through a Y Fitness Class. Were you able to have your child experience the BEST SUMMER EVER through our summer day camp program or
have you been able to feel a sense of belonging because of our financial assistance program? Or perhaps you reached your goal
weight after making a resolution to train at the Y. Each member's experience here is unique and we would like to hear yours.
Your story is an inspiration to others that demonstrates what the Y can really do for individuals, families and communities
With each story we connect emotionally with our promise to strengthen community and to engage others in the Y's life-changing
work. Read the stories above and then, SHARE YOUR Y STORY WITH US!

Scholarships
With a commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living
and fostering a sense of social responsibility, the Y ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to
learn, grow and thrive. The YMCA welcomes all who wish to participate and believes that no one should be denied access to
the Y based on their ability to pay. Through our Scholarship Program, the Switzerland County YMCA provides assistance to youth,
adults and families based on individual needs and circumstances. Every YMCA member receives the same membership benefits,
regardless of whether or not they receive a scholarship. The Y offers scholarships on memberships and child care programs
for members. A scholarship reduces the fees, but it does not eliminate them.
