Youth Swim Lessons

 

Have your child gain confidence in the pool with our monthly swim lessons. Teaching your child to swim can have significant benefits for both their health and safety! Children who participate in swim lessons are 88% less likely  to drown Swim lessons help children build confidence and social skills, improve motor development, and accelerate cognitive development. Each skill level builds the preceding level and all classes cover the different strokes and safety skills. Lessons give instructional assistance in the different swimming strokes, safety around water, character development and confidence. We offer one session per month on Saturdays, and participants recieve 4 lessons; wtih all classes being 40 minutes in length. Make-up lessons will only be offered due to a YMCA cancellation or closure.

GAIN CONFIDENCE
WITH EVERY
STROKE 

Private Lessons 

Gain confidence with every stroke with our one-on-one private swim lessons. Private lessons give you the flexibility to work with our instructor to create a schedule that best fits your needs. Our private swim lessons are designed and taught by one of our two qualified adult instructors. Private swim lessons go beyond the group lessons setting and give you the one-on-one interaction with our instructor. These lessons are designed for both swimmers and non swimmers of any age and of any swim ability. We can work to build confidence in the water or to develop stroke technique. You will be able to meet with your instructor before you start your lessons to go over your personal goals and we will set up a plan to help you best meet those goals.

WATER FITNESS CLASSES

Water Fitness

Join us for a full body workout that increases cardiovasuclar endurance, improves balance and flexibity, and builds strength. Water aerobics classes are good for those with artheritis or joint pain, because it is easier on your joints. In this class you will use the natural resistance and buoyancy of water against your body to provide a wide of conditioning activity. During this 45 minute class exercises will be done in both the shallow and deep ends of the pool, however if you are a nonswimmer you can do all the exercises from the shallow end. We use a varitey of equipment in this fun, entergetic, high intensity class.

SilverSneakers Splash 

Activate your urge for variety! Splash offers fun, shallow-water movemtn to improve agility and flexibility while addressing cardiovascular, strength and endurance conditioning. No swimming ability is required. A SilverSneakers kickboard and other aquatic equipment is used to improve strength, blance and coordination.
