Group Exercise Programs

As a cause-driven organization, the Y if focused on improving the health and well-being of the community. Group exercise programs are a fun and interactive way to get fit while having fun in a supportive group setting. The Y's group exercise instructors are highly-trained to provide safe and effective exercise programs. You are not alone in a Y group exercise class, our instructors help bring the class together to form supportive connections. Still the best benefit yet, is that group exercise programs are FREE to Y members.  

Boot Camp

You won't find any dance moves in this high intensity, sweat-inducing workout. If you are up for the challenge, join us for conditioning drills, high intensity cardio and strengthening exercises. Modifications offered for beginning/intermediate.

Body Toning

This hour long class is based on strength training. Participants will use a variety of equipment to work on full body strengthening.

Cycling

Cycling allows you to train and challenge your aerobic fitness level in a group setting. Instructors will use mussic to guide your ride. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to set up your bike. It is recommended to bring water and a towel!

HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)

It's a great class to add variety to your exercise plan while taking your fitness to the next level. It can be cardio-respiratory and/or resistance training technique that alternates brief speed/power and recovery intervals to increaqse the overall intensity of your workout. HIIT is used by athletes and everyday exercise enthusiasts to reach performance goals and enhance fitness and well-being.

Pilates

Pilates mat work is a system of stretching and strengthening exercises designed to work the body as a whole, focusing on the abdominal, lower back, and gluteal muscles.

Pound

Full-body workout that combines cardio, conditiong and strength training with yoga and pilates-inspired movements. Usisng Ripstix, lightly weighted drumsticks engineereed specifically for exercising, POUND transforms drumming into an incredibly effective way of working out

Strength and Stretch

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activity for daily living skills. Handheld weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support.

YMCA Certified Personal Training

Switzerland YMCA personal training sessions give you motivation, support adn success. Our trainer will meet with you first in order to get a clear understanding of your fitness goals. Our certified personal trainer is committed to helping you improve your physical fitness, health and overall quality of life. All sessions are created to fit the individual needs to help you achieve maximum results and meet your fitness goals. During your session you can expect to be educated on proper exercising techniques for your personal fitness level, learn what exercises to focus on and how many sets and reps you should do. Our trainer will help you track your progress, provide motivation and give guidance.
